Empowering the community with food sustainability through education and consulting services.
Edible Gardens Consulting helps transform unused spaces into thriving, sustainable food sources. This is accomplished through a side-by-side assessment, along with planning and constructing the client's garden space while teaching them effective maintenance practices.Edible Garden Consulting (ECG) was established in October 2024 by Lanii Baillie. It is a sole proprietorship, female veteran-owned and operated business located in Seneca, SC (Oconee County). In 2024, after 20 years of service, Lanii retired from the U.S. Air Force. Upon retirement, she interned with the Project Victory Gardens organization. That organization connects prior service members to hands-on internships on farms throughout the state of SC. Through that organization, she worked on the Growing Green Family Farm in Anderson, SC. After her internship was complete, Lanii was hired on as the field manager. In October of 2024, Lanii wanted to refocus her efforts on being a homeschool mom and create Edible Gardens Consulting.During her time on the Farm, she was taught first-hand how to grow bountiful market-ready harvests in small spaces. She learned sustainable and regenerative practices that omitted pesticides and herbicides. Lanii learned how to build up the soil organically and use biodiversity to grow amazing food. These learned methods are utilized in Lanii's personal garden, as well as in each client’s gardens.
